Unbridled and free to have fun! This traditional wooden rocking horse is made for the youthful pleasures of climbing, rocking, and imagining. Four natural hardwoods are beautifully shaped, joined, and finished all by hand.
If your child or grandchild has an exuberant spirit, the unbridled horse is the perfect match. The rockers are intentionally shaped to prevent tipping. Because spirited children like to name their own horses, we've left all of our rocking animals nameless.
This horse will be personalized and dedicated to the child or children who receive it. Please type your 4-line inscription in the "engraving" box at checkout.
For the love of grandchildren and family, Fred Stave has designed classic and timeless rocking toys. Applying his engineering expertise and his innate appreciation of the beauty of natural wood, this skilled artisan meticulously handcrafts walnut, cherry, red oak and ash to make some of the best rocking horses in the world. With an artistic eye, Fred carefully selects wood with grains that mimic the natural muscles and hide of a horse. ( Look closely at all of the photos.)
All Goose Creek Enterprises products are designed for fun and safety for children. Goose Creek Enterprises
Engineer Turns Artisan
Fred Stave's background is rooted in design and perfection. For many years, he worked as a research and products development engineer and design manager at RCA Corporation. In 1985, Fred co-founded a small medical device company and created a tool utilized in cataract eye surgery. For the remainder of his engineering career, Fred directed a global group of applied research engineers at Whirlpool Corporation.
In retirement, Fred considered the possibility of building a keepsake for his 3 (now 4) grandchildren. After attending a large woodworking show in 2000, the idea was born... design and build an heirloom quality rocking horse for each of the grandchildren. Each rocker would be so beautiful and durable that it would be passed on from generation to generation.
Other grandparents saw the beauty and artistry of Fred's creations, and they asked him to build rocking horses for their grandchildren and families as well. Fred has found his artistic side, and we are so glad he did! He has combined his engineering, design, and woodworking skills to create some of the most beautiful rocking toys in the world.
Fred and his wife Sondra are the parents of two boys and two girls and the grandparents of one grandson and three granddaughters. They live in Indiana with their three Cocker Spaniels on 150 wooded acres by Goose Creek Bay. With most of his time spent in the workshop designing and building these beautiful, one-of-a-kind Riding Rockers, Fred delights in being a true perfectionist. He combines artistry, skill, and attention to detail to make delightful rocking animals for today's children and for future generations.
