Heirlooms To Be is proud to offer fine furniture for children by Art For Kids. Gail Sedigh's designs are breath-takingly beautiful and most definitely heirloom quality. AFK furniture will surely bring delight to families and will be treasured for generations.
In 1982, Gail Sedigh was living in Los Angeles and working in the entertainment industry. Newlywed, and pregnant with her first child, she quit her job and devoted herself to children's design - a lifelong passion. She painted an alphabet of hand-painted letters formed by children and created charming personalized nursery pictures. These were the first products of Art For Kids. Soon these "Names" were selling in the finest children's boutiques in the country.
Driven by customer requests, the company expanded to include additional items featuring the adorable characters she had created. With her husband Bijan joining the company, they began making lamps, mirrors, toy chests, and other accessories for the nursery.
In 1997, Art For Kids introduced its first crib and case pieces, which were met with overwhelming success. Now, 25 years since launching that first product, AFK is still based in Southern California, committed to quality and safety for our most precious resource - our children.
Gail and Bijan personally oversee the day to day operations in a state-of-the-art facility in the heart of Orange County. Decorating the nurseries of royalty and celebrities around the world, AFK remains dedicated to creating a nurturing environment for the most important child of all - yours.
